When I consider your heavens and the 2021 Mars Rover
Today laid out in puzzle
pieces beneath my fingers;
pale Milky Way across two hemispheres,
Little Dipper Little Bear
and Polaris
with Pleiades and Orion to the right.
…..Reminded with pleasure of Job referencing
…..these constellations by name,
…..and God,
…..questioning him 30 chapters later.
Mars in a chart in the top left-hand corner
with no sign of the successful arrival
of the rover Perseverance.
Builders so keen to find the origin of life
they might miss
Your breath blowing across that red landscape.
