Angela became Editor of CC in 2009, having learned English grammar in Moscow, research skills in grad school and everything else on the fly. Her vision is for CC to give body to a Reformed perspective by exploring what it means to follow Jesus today. She hopes that the shared stories of God at work in the world inspire each reader to participate in the ongoing task of renewing his creation. Angela lives in Newcastle, Ontario with her husband, Allan, and three young children.

MEGHAN KORT
ASSISTANT EDITOR
Meghan is Assistant Editor of Christian Courier and lives in Terrace, BC. She has a degree in History and Political Science and spent most of her time on campus engaging in multi-faith dialogue alongside CRC campus ministry staff. Meghan went on to do a master’s in church history, walk half the Camino, work as a research assistant in France and sail the Gulf Islands on a tall ship before she found her calling in journalism. When she’s not going for adventures with her two young kids, Meghan enjoys gardening, board games and rock climbing.

MAAIKE VANDERMEER
ART AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Maaike first appeared in CC‘s pages as a teenager writer from Ontario. Fast forward almost a decade later (and relocate to a land-based fish farm in southern British Columbia), and Maaike stepped in as CC‘s assistant editor for a year. Now Maaike serves as Art and Development Manager for CC. She is intrigued by the symbiotic relationship between hope-oriented journalism and the arts, and the place it has in CC‘s pages. Maaike’s degree is in Intercultural Service and World Arts. You can follow her visual experiments on Instagram @maai_abrokentulip.

Adele loves all kinds of media, but has an enduring affection for classic British novels and their on-screen adaptations. After several years of working in communications and marketing at World Renew, she is now a freelance writer and editor who specializes in literary and nonprofit writing. Adele lives in Hamilton, Ontario with her family and their rather huge cat.

Marlene Bergsma

Marlene currently works as director of communications for a Christian institution, but she’s been a writer and editor all her life, including 25 years as a reporter and editor at the St. Catharines Standard. Bergsma says that the experience of reading Christian Courier is a relief and comfort, because in it she finds “Reformed postures and sentiments that resonate.”

Peter is Executive Director of Global Scholars Canada, a transnational guild of Christian scholars. He preaches, teaches and writes – having written columns, editorials, news and features for CC since 1997. His book The Subversive Evangelical: The Ironic Charisma of an Irreligious Megachurch (McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2019) is an ethnographic journey into the life of a megachurch and its “irreligious” charismatic leader. He loves stories that cross boundaries while maintaining integrity.

As a former teacher, current stay at home Mom/piano teacher/tutor, Sarah’s loving this stage of life to read, play piano and participate in local Christian school and church community activities. She enjoys interacting with CC readers to maintain subscriptions and encourage our readership to flourish. Sarah is also the voice behind CC‘s social media.
HEATHER SNIPPE
BOOKKEEPER & ADS MANAGER
Heather is currently a stay-at-home mom working part-time at her church and for CC. She takes care of classifieds, ads, bookkeeping and a few other odds and ends. Heather studied at Columbia Bible College in BC where she learned outdoor leadership and travelled to India alongside local missionaries. She also completed an internship program in Hawaii with Surfing the Nations, a non-profit humanitarian organization whose focus is on serving the local community and feeding the hungry. She loves exploring new places, learning about different cultures and being challenged in new ways. She now resides in Niagara, Ontario with her husband and three small kids. She is excited to be a part of the CC community!

Kevin Tamming is a designer who works for the Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC). He is excited to work with the CC team in putting out a culturally relevant newspaper focusing on Christ’s place in the world, at a time when that is truly needed.

Naomi holds an advanced diploma in graphic design from Durham College. She enjoys building creative concepts from the ground up to meet her clients’ needs. She also enjoys investing her time and talent in local community initiatives.
