Harvesting Gifts

Community rallies behind Reformed journalism.

By the time you receive this issue in the mail, CC’s fall Rooted & Growing donation appeal will be in week five! Thank you to everyone who has already given a special gift towards this campaign. It has been heartening to see donations coming in online, in the mail and over the phone. Funds are often accompanied with lovely words of encouragement, such as the following:

“We have been subscribers for nearly 50 years and wouldn’t go without it! Keep up the good work!”

“Thank you for your continuing faithful witness to the King of Kings through the Reformed wittiness in Christian Courier. It has been a pleasure to have subscribed and been nourished by this witness for going on to 62 years.”

CC staff and writers value these notes of support. The matching grant continues to be in effect until the end of October, meaning every dollar given (up to $7,500) will be matched by an anonymous donor! If you’re looking to help CC maximize this opportunity, when you give this month please mention “Matching Grant.”

As part of this fall’s appeal, CC launched a Bert Witvoet Fellowship to honour the former editor. Gifts given in celebration of Witvoet will support young writers and CC’s commitment to excellent Reformed journalism. Don’t miss Bert’s guest editorial in this issue!

Peter Schuurman, CC Contributing Editor, describes Bert as “a story-teller with an interest in every corner of God’s good creation, embodying that ‘faith integrated with life’ Calvinism not just in word but in his lifestyle.”

Do you have a favourite memory of Bert Witvoet, either from meeting him or from one of his articles?  Let us know! Email your thoughts to ac.reiruocnaitsirhc@rotide
