This month, we are delighted to welcome Jonathan Elgersma as Social Media Editor with Christian Courier for the summer. Jonathan is currently studying Mathematics at the University of Waterloo. He describes himself as having a passion for sports as well as an interest in building up relationships with people around him. He lives in Richmond Hill, Ontario, with his parents and two siblings, and says he’s happy to be a part of Christian Courier.
Meanwhile, the following three people recently joined Reformed Faith Witness, the Board of CC, bringing fresh perspectives from Western and Atlantic Canada.
Jaime Spyksma, Abbotsford, B.C.
Jaime is from Winnipeg, Manitoba but currently lives in Abbotsford with her husband Darren and two (almost grown) children – one in university and one in secondary school. She works as a marketing assistant at Abbotsford Christian School and has a BA in Communications and Business from Trinity Western University. She is a big Disney fan, loves paper crafting, and is looking forward to contributing to the vision of Christian journalism in Canada.
Noah Van Brenk, Halifax, N.S.
Noah earned his Honours BA in English literature from Redeemer University and MA in English from Dalhousie University, with some dabbling in philosophy and history studies along the way. He’s particularly interested in gendered theology and theological aesthetics. He is also an avid soccer spectator and self-professed beer connoisseur, though this designation has not been verified.
Sarah van der Ende, Halifax, N.S.
Originally from Surrey, B.C., Sarah lived in Edmonton while completing her undergraduate degree at The King’s University, and moved out to Halifax to study Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Dalhousie University, focusing on rare genetics diseases. After finishing her PhD, she plans on heading back to school and specializing in medical genetics, and ultimately working in a lab with rare disease patients. When she has any free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, knitting and all kinds of exercising. She loves the outdoors and her large family, and simply adores her little nephew.
You can contact the Board anytime through its Chair, Jim Dekker.
You just read something for free.
But it didn’t appear out of thin air. Writers, editors and designers at Christian Courier worked behind the scenes to bring hope-filled, faith-based journalism to you.
As an independent publication, we simply cannot produce award-winning, Christ-centred material without support from readers like you. And we are truly grateful for any amount you can give!
CC is a registered charity, which is good news for you! Every contribution ($10+) is tax-deductible.
